The professional teeth whitening difference – get results, safely and comfortably!

Professional teeth whitening at the dentist’s office is one of the quickest and safest ways to dramatically “make over” the appearance of your smile. Since your smile is such a central and unmistakable feature of your face, our team at Willow Creek Dentistry in Rochester, New York, wants it to shine! When your smile is healthy, youthful, and vibrant, you exude confidence and vigor. So, the effects of effective teeth whitening are more than meets the eye.

What makes professional teeth whitening different?

Our dentists, Drs Chris Calnon and Scott Koopman, understand that many of our patients have tried a variety of OTC whitening kits, toothpastes, and products with big claims. These products rarely live up to their promises. The products that we use are different from what you can buy at the store or online. Our whitening gels are formulated with ingredients clinically proven to remove stains and discoloration. These gels are also sufficiently concentrated to make a visible difference in the shade of your teeth.

Are these whitening gels safe?

While powerful, our whitening gels’ safety has also been scientifically demonstrated through rigorous testing. In fact, we use Opalescence™, a leading teeth whitening system. Patients have peace of mind in our products as well as the oversight of treatment by our highly qualified dentists. Drs Calnon and Koopman oversee every aspect of your treatment. It is personalized to your unique needs, which supports your comfort and safety, and the desired level of whitening and results that you want.

How does teeth whitening work?

At heart, the peroxide-based gels we use break up the molecules that make your teeth look yellow or stained. By breaking down these molecular bonds into tiny, colorless fragments, your teeth reflect light better and appear dramatically whiter.

How long does it take to whiten my teeth?

It depends on your treatment of choice! At Willow Creek Dentistry, we offer our patients many options. These include in-office whitening, which allows our dentists to whiten your teeth in as little as one hour. The powerful hydrogen peroxide formula is chemically activated, a process that accelerates the whitening action. You can also whiten your teeth gradually with special whitening trays. These trays deliver the whitening gel to your teeth. When worn as directed, your teeth will look a little whiter, day by day, and you can stop treatment once your desired shade level has been reached.

How do I keep my teeth stain-free?

Visit us regularly for professional cleanings. These cleanings remove surface stains, as well as bacteria, plaque, and stubborn tartar (plaque build-up). You can also “touch up” your whitening results with refills of Opalescence™ gel. Drs Calnon and Koopman are happy to discuss techniques and lifestyle modifications specific to your situation to help you keep those brilliant results, too.
